Beach Chairs With a Canopy for Sun Protection

For those of you who enjoy a great outdoors, but are still very aware of how ultraviolet rays can damage your skin, a beach chair with a canopy may be an option.

Ultraviolet rays damage from the sun is causing more people to come up with skin cancer, and yet, even with all of the sun protection available, many people just don't use it. If you have any type of skin cancer in your family, it's time to start looking into more prevention than just sunscreen. A beach chair with a canopy is one of the options that you'll find available for your sun protection.

They come in a wide assortment of designs; some of the least expensive will allow you to attach a beach umbrella, or a regular umbrella to the chair. These are the type of camp chairs that fold up in a bag, and allow you to place the canopy or the umbrella right over your head where ever you want. They'll have small fasteners that allow you to place the base of the canopy or umbrella on the ground, and still attach to the chair so that it doesn't blow away and you don't have to hold it.

The other type of beach chairs with the canopy will be those that have the canopy foldable right into the chair back. Most of the time these types are a bit more expensive because the canopy is built into the chair. It's still an umbrella sort of shelter, but can usually tilt in several different directions.

Other types of beach chairs, with a canopy will be a square type and actually folds up and locks over your head. It is not movable once it's locked into place, and so if the sun is coming from the side or the front, you don't get much protection.

You can also make your own type of beach chairs with a canopy very easily and quickly. A bit of strong strain and an umbrella will do it. It's not as stable as those that are made to have canopies or umbrellas attached. And you'll probably have to anchor the base of the umbrella in several different places to keep it from tipping over. Also, leaving the chair with the canopy or umbrella can cause the whole chair to blow away so be very careful concerning the wind.

Beach chairs with canopies are available in a variety of different places. Look to your own home camping store, look online, and look on those specialized beach websites and you'll find a variety of beach chair canopies that can protect you from the sun's damaging ultraviolet rays.
